Helping children, young people, and families navigate important transitions with greater confidence and practical support
N JAY DISABILITY CONSULTANT supports children and young people through important transitions across home, school, community, and future planning.
This may include support with school readiness, school participation, transition planning, life-stage change, community participation, and practical support for developing greater independence and confidence.
With more than 30 years of experience as a Special Needs Teacher in the NSW Department of Education, I understand the real-world demands of classrooms, school routines, participation barriers, support needs, educational settings, and transition challenges.
I can support families with preparing children and young people for change, helping build participation skills, supporting communication and regulation, working with schools and educators, and helping families make sense of options and next steps.
Support may include: school readiness, moving into school, transitioning through school stages, planning around support needs, strengthening participation, liaising with educators and professionals, building confidence in everyday environments, and helping families feel more informed and less overwhelmed.
